From master plans to perennial borders, pruning tutorials, seasonal walk-arounds, yearly schedules and initial property assessments, I consulted with hundreds of gardeners and land owners over the years. Two abiding things I learned are how much people love the land in their care and that you cannot change the image people have in their minds of the perfect garden.

Hi Cathy, I wanted to take your cont. ed. class but didn’t get in. I’m wondering if your services include a visit and ideas for what to plant; I am retired with limited resources and am still able to do a lot of the work myself. I just don’t have a good sense of design and prefer native things, some blooming things, what’s good for the environment and for birds, butterflies, bees, etc. Is this something you’d be interested in doing on one of your trips to Cville? I live just off Rio Rd E. across from CATEC. If you can, then will you give me an idea of cost as well. I hope to take your class the next time around. L
Hi, Lynda, Hope you got my message about calling SCPS (434-982-5252) to register for Landscape Design (NCAR 108), which had a drop-out.
I do make site visits and charge $100 for an open-ended walk around with follow-up report. I love sustainable design using natives and pollinator-friendly plants. Hope we can connect someday.
Best,
Cathy
